Patrick Kevin Foley (1856-1937) was born in Ireland and came to the United States in 1881. He started as a travelling book salesman and later became a general agent for subscription book houses. He developed into a bibliographical expert and a great antiquarian bookseller, starting in business in 1896. Edward Francis Coffin (1873-1949) was born in Nashua, N.H., and died in Worcester, Mass. He graduated from Wesleyan University in 1895 and joined his father's Worcester firm, E. W. Coffin Company, which sold store fixtures. Coffin was also a successful book dealer.
